Absolutely. At Torii Health, our model is rooted in American family medicine — coordinated, comprehensive, and evidence-based. All of our providers are U.S.-trained and licensed, and we practice using the same clinical guidelines and protocols you’d expect back home in the States.
What this means for you:
• Comprehensive Services: We care for the whole family — pediatrics, adult medicine, women’s health, psychiatry, procedures, and lifestyle medicine — under one roof.
• Evidence-Based Medicine: Our diagnosis and treatment decisions follow U.S. guidelines, ensuring up-to-date, scientifically supported care.
• Continuity & Coordination: We track your labs, medications, and preventive screenings, and coordinate seamlessly with Japanese specialists, U.S. military base providers, and U.S.-based doctors when needed.
• Patient-Centered Communication: You get full access to your medical records and billing in English through our secure portal, plus ongoing communication with your care team between visits.
In short, we’ve brought the American standard of care to Japan — making your healthcare feel familiar, consistent, and reliable, no matter where you or your family are coming from.

Yes. We prescribe GLP-1 medications when clinically appropriate and support you holistically in your weight loss journey. These medications may require prior authorization with your insurance. We stock GLP-1s available in Japan (injection and pills) on-site and can also send prescriptions to U.S. military pharmacies (MTFs) or Express Scripts if necessary. If your insurance doesn’t cover them, we’ll work with you to find the most cost-effective option.

At this time, we do not directly prescribe testosterone in Japan. However, we provide lab monitoring and clinical follow-up for patients on testosterone therapy and coordinate care with U.S.-based prescribers when needed. Our goal is to ensure safe, continuous management of your treatment while you’re overseas.

Yes. We diagnose and manage ADHD in both children and adults. Treatment plans may include behavioral strategies as well as medications (such as stimulants or non-stimulants like atomoxetine). Please note that stimulant medications are strictly regulated in Japan and cannot be prescribed locally. However, we can prescribe non-stimulant options in Japan and, when possible, coordinate stimulant prescriptions through U.S. military providers.

• Colonoscopy – with sedation, for colorectal cancer prevention
• EGD (upper endoscopy) – with sedation, for evaluation of reflux, ulcers, and GI cancer risk
• Mammogram – for breast cancer screening
• Low-dose CT scan of the lungs – for patients at risk of lung cancer
• Home sleep studies – convenient testing for sleep apnea and snoring concerns
• Pulmonary function testing (PFTs) – to assess asthma, COPD, and lung health

All screenings are coordinated through our team — we arrange the testing, explain the results, and help plan any necessary follow-up care.
Billing
-
Torii Health operates as a self-pay clinic and credit/debit card information is required at the time of booking an appointment. We keep your payment information on file should you have a co-pay if we have a direct billing relationship with your insurance provider.
We do not collect payment at the time of your visit. Rather, an invoice in English and USD will be sent within a week of the visit and payment is then due within a week of receipt of the invoice.
All payments are made, securely online through our Stripe system (credit/debit card accepted) by simply clicking on the link in the patient portal or your email. Once payment is made, a receipt will be sent to you electronically that you can then use to get reimbursed by your insurance company.
Should you have any issues with reimbursement, we are more than happy to work with you to troubleshoot with your insurance company.

Our goal is to make high quality, safe and comprehensive health care accessible to you in Japan at an American standard of care. In order to do so, we are actively working on establishing direct billing relationships with several US insurers (see below). However, we are still primarily self-pay.
Currently we are working on finalizing a relationship with AFSPA / FSBP (Foreign Service Benefit Plan). We also work with the DOD Civilian Health Program which will guarantee payment of medical services except medications which are still self-pay. Contracting with US insurance companies is time-consuming as it requires becoming credentialed, agreeing on pricing, getting set up on their system to submit invoices and establishing a payments mechanism internationally. These negotiations also happen across time zone differences. Most clinics in Japan do not have these relationships due to these significant barriers. We appreciate your continued understanding and patience.
For all other U.S. or international insurance plans with whom we do NOT have direct billing relationships with, you can submit your receipt for reimbursement.
All receipts are provided in English, in USD, and include ICD-10 diagnosis codes and CPT procedure codes for insurance submission.
-
First visit: Usually between $400–$500 USD, depending on any labs or tests ordered.
Follow-up visits: Typically, under $300 USD.
Telehealth visits: Usually the same or slightly less than in-person follow-ups.
Our prices are higher than most Japanese clinics and much lower than your average American clinic. We provide an American standard of care, which means longer visits, bilingual staff, translation services, US insurance support, online messaging, longer refills (as authorized by Japanese medical law), coordination with the US military bases and a personalized experience for you and your family. Providing an American standard of care is more costly.

No. Labs and medications are billed separately.
Labs: Done in-clinic.
Medications: Dispensed directly from the clinic whenever possible.
If a medication isn’t available in Japan, we’ll help you find an alternative source.
We can also mail medications at no additional cost for patients outside the Zama/Atsugi area.
