OPEN ENROLLMENT IS HERE

Open Enrollment Is Here — Choose a Plan That Works for Life in Japan

Open Enrollment Season is the one time each year when you can review and update your health insurance. For many SOFA families living around Zama, Atsugi, Yokota, and Yokosuka, choosing the right plan can make day-to-day healthcare in Japan much simpler — especially when the plan connects smoothly with Torii Health’s direct billing and concierge-style coordination.

A Simpler Experience with Direct Billing

Right now, FSBP–Aetna is the only plan we can fully direct-bill.

Direct billing with Cigna, BCBS, and Tricare is actively in progress.

Here’s what that has meant for many Torii Health patients:

  • No upfront payment for clinic visits or telehealth

  • 10% out-of-pocket after deductible

  • Online payment after FSBP–Aetna processes the claim

  • $25 – 50-minute visit

  • $20 – one-hour counseling session

  • $17 – urgent visit

  • $14 – 20-minute follow-up

  • $12 – sports physical

  • FREE messaging between visits for care coordination

  • FREE access to all your medical records and test results

We Handle Everything

Need an MRI, CT, colonoscopy, endoscopy, or specialist consultation?

We take care of the entire process:

  • We book the appointment

  • We coordinate with the hospital

  • We bill insurance directly

Patients do not pay anything upfront to the hospital.

And if there’s a service we don’t offer in-house, we’ll help you find the right place in Japan — and help you navigate the system.

Don’t Miss These Open Season Deadlines

  • Health Plans (FEHB / PSHB): December 8

  • Dental / Vision (FEDVIP): December 8

  • FSAFEDS: December 8 (ET)

Open Enrollment is your chance to make sure your insurance works for the life you’re living right now — including access to convenient, U.S.-style care right here in Japan.
